Demolition at the Dawlish Derby

Here at Bridge, we believe that it’s important to support our local communities. After all, biking itself is all about being part of a community of riders who band together; be it on ride outs, helping a stranded rider on the side of the road, or even just giving the nod to other passing motorcyclists.

We believe it’s also important to give back to our local communities, and that’s one of the reasons that we support Dawlish United Madrid, who went on to take the Under 13s Devon Pioneer League Cup for 2018 the other week.

“The boys were outstanding in the final,” commented Director, Lee Anthony. “The team ethic and the quality of play were the product of hard work and seasons of training, all coming together to produce a fantastic result. We’re extremely proud to give them our support.”

After sponsoring the team for the past few seasons, they delivered a spectacular 12-0 result in the final the other week to lift the League Cup for the very first time in the history of the club. After absolutely dominating the local derby final against the Dawlish Barca squad, United took a comfortable lead early on to put them in front by 5-0 at half time.

It’s fair to say that the win has went down a storm here at the dealership too, with no less than three members of staff having ties to the team. Cameron Anthony is the son of Company Director, Lee, and contributed to one of the dozen goals scored in the decisive victory. Goalkeeper, Max Prowse, son of our Clothing and Accessories Manager, Darren, kept charge of the keeping the opposition score at zero. With a background that has seen him trail at Plymouth Argyle too, this lad’s future is looking very promising in the sport. Finally, Kieran Martin, son to our Telephone Sales Executive, Rachel helped to secure the dominating final score, bagging himself a hat trick in the process too.

Congratulations to the whole team from everybody here at Bridge, we can’t wait to see what next season has in store.
