Round Three race report from Seth Crump:
Overall a decent weekend where we moved in the right direction. Getting more comfortable on the bike. We started Friday morning with the suspension very similiar to the stock 600 settings I used last year and that was a good starting point. Over the weekend we just made some small adjustments to that. As well as engine brake and throttle mapping changes. The second practice session was weird as I think I had a dodgy back tyre and I was unable to improve my time from the first practice session.
Saturday was my favourite day of the weekend haha.
Qualifying - P7
Race 1 - P5
The qualifying session was calm and I stayed out the whole time. I felt like I got the most out of the bike on my best lap so that was satisfying.
The race was bloody hectic I got stuck in a group battle for most of it but was able to break away on the last couple of laps and finish 5th.
Race 2 - DNF
The race on Sunday was tricky. I think the heat of the sun on the track made it a little bit slippery and unfortunately I didn’t have the heat feeling with the front of the bike. I tried to keep pushing but eventually tucked the front at the Melbourne loop.
Overall a weekend where I moved forward so that’s good. Just a shame to leave the track with a crash. Knockhill is the next round and hopefully we have some better parts on the bike by then.
