Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its comprehensively updated Tiger 1200 range for 2027, introducing significant improvements to performance, handling, comfort and rider technology. Designed for riders who demand serious long-distance touring capability without compromising on excitement, the latest Tiger 1200 takes adventure motorcycling to a new level.
With a more powerful 1200cc triple engine, innovative self-lowering suspension, advanced radar-assisted rider systems and refreshed styling, the new range is engineered to make every journey more rewarding – whether you're exploring winding country roads, crossing continents or heading off the beaten track.
The new Triumph Tiger 1200 is available to order now, with bikes expected to arrive in dealerships from December 2026.
At the heart of the new Tiger 1200 is Triumph’s evolved 1200cc T-Plane triple engine, now producing an impressive 158 PS at 9,250 rpm – an increase of 8 PS over the previous generation.
Engine revisions, updated gearbox ratios and refinements to the shaft drive deliver stronger torque at lower engine speeds, smoother power delivery and improved control at low speeds. These changes make slow manoeuvres and stop-start traffic more manageable, while maintaining the performance and character expected from Triumph’s flagship adventure motorcycle.
The six-speed gearbox and shaft drive have also been refined for quieter, smoother operation and more precise gear changes. Combined with Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, the result is a more effortless and engaging riding experience.
For riders who love covering serious distances, the Tiger 1200 retains its touring credentials, with a low-maintenance shaft drive and a 10,000-mile service interval helping to make longer adventures easier to plan.
One of the most significant developments is the introduction of SHOWA EERA HEIGHTFLEX® semi-active suspension, bringing a new level of accessibility and confidence to the Tiger 1200.
The system automatically lowers the seat by 30mm as the motorcycle comes to a stop, helping riders put their feet down more confidently without sacrificing the commanding riding position when moving.
With the low seat fitted, the two-position seat adjustment and the automatic ride-height function working together, seat height can be reduced to as little as 790mm at a standstill.
The suspension also offers three selectable damping settings – Firm, Medium and Soft – allowing riders to tailor the bike's response to different road conditions and riding preferences.
Another practical innovation is Centre Stand Assist, which temporarily increases suspension preload as the centre stand is deployed, reducing the effort required to lift the motorcycle onto its stand, even when fully loaded.
Combined with a revised chassis, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels across the range, and 200mm of suspension travel, the new Tiger 1200 promises more agile, engaging road handling while retaining its adventure-ready capability.
The new Tiger 1200 takes connectivity and rider assistance to another level, bringing together an impressive range of intelligent features designed to support awareness, comfort and control.
A new 7-inch high-definition touchscreen introduces wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, making it easier to access navigation, music and messaging while on the move.
A redesigned, cooled phone compartment integrated into the fuel tank includes USB-C charging, helping keep compatible devices charged and protected during longer rides.
The updated adaptive LED projector headlight incorporates cornering functionality, illuminating the inside of bends as the motorcycle leans. This is complemented by redesigned bodywork and a sharper, more contemporary front-end design.
Front and rear Bosch radar technology also introduces a comprehensive suite of Advanced Rider Assistance Systems, including:
Adaptive Cruise Control
Group Ride Assist
Forward Collision Warning
Riding Distance Assist
Emergency Brake Assist
Blind Spot Assist
Rear Distance Warning
Working alongside the Tiger's existing cornering ABS and traction control systems, these technologies are designed to enhance rider awareness and support greater confidence on the road.
The updated Tiger 1200 range continues to offer four distinct models, each with its own character and equipment to suit different adventure riding ambitions.
Tiger 1200 GT Pro
The road-focused adventure tourer, featuring cast aluminium wheels and a 20-litre fuel tank. An excellent choice for riders who want sporty road handling alongside long-distance comfort and versatility.

Combining road-focused handling with enhanced touring capability, the GT Explorer features a larger 30-litre fuel tank for extended range, along with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and additional equipment.
Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer
The ultimate long-distance adventure companion, combining the Rally's rugged, off-road-focused specification with a 30-litre fuel tank, additional protection and enhanced touring equipment.
Across the range, redesigned rider and pillion seats, spacious ergonomics, heated rider and pillion seats, and three-stage heated grips help make longer days in the saddle more comfortable.
The latest Tiger 1200 features redesigned bodywork that gives Triumph's flagship adventure motorcycle a more contemporary and purposeful appearance.
A restyled fuel tank, revised radiator cowls, redesigned beak and updated windscreen create a sharper profile, while the new compact LED projector headlight reinforces the Tiger's distinctive presence.
Each model also has its own colour options, allowing riders to choose a finish that reflects their style.
