Recently, two members of our Honda sales team, Matt and Paul, had the opportunity to get out on the road and spend time riding some of Honda's latest models. From the all-new CB1000GT and CB1000F to Honda's latest E-Clutch-equipped machines and the all-electric WN7, it was a great chance to experience the bikes back-to-back and see what they're really like away from the showroom.
After a full day in the saddle, we caught up with them to hear what stood out, which bikes impressed them the most and what customers can look forward to when they visit Bridge Motorcycles.
A Day in the Saddle
The ride took place in Bracknell, where Honda brought together members of its dealer network to experience a range of new and updated models.
"Everyone from across the dealer network that attended were really friendly and welcoming. The classroom based workshop was well ventilated, despite the 35 degree heat." — Matt
Paul agreed that the day was memorable, describing it as a hot and humid ride with plenty of discussion around the WN7 and the new CB1000 models. The weather may have made it hard work at times, but it certainly didn't stop the team enjoying the experience.
CB1000GT — The Standout Sports Tourer
When asked which model is likely to make the biggest impact with customers, both Matt and Paul picked the Honda CB1000GT.
"Once we get bums on seats, this bike will redefine what's possible from a sport tourer." — Matt
Matt was particularly impressed by the amount of equipment fitted as standard, including semi-active suspension, rider modes, heated grips, a centre stand, panniers and a six-axis IMU.
"The newly built in-line four engine really works with this package, delivering its power smoothly throughout the rev range." — Matt
Paul's verdict was equally positive, praising the bike's combination of comfort, performance and value, and describing it as "excellent value" compared with rival sports tourers. Both believe it's likely to be one of the most popular models with customers
.
CB1000F – Modern Performance with a Classic Feel
The new Honda CB1000F also left a strong impression.
"A bit of nostalgia for the older generation who remembers the CB750F. It rides as good as it looks and will give the Z900RS a run for its money when it comes to specs and price!" – Matt
While the CB1000F is an all-new model, its styling clearly nods to Honda's legendary CB heritage, combining retro-inspired looks with modern performance and technology.
WN7 – The Unexpected Highlight
If there was one bike that generated the most curiosity, it was the Honda WN7.
"This bike is definitely a conversation starter, very futuristic, and I think it's here to stay!" – Matt
Paul was surprised by how compact and lightweight it felt.
"WN7 is fast, light, with low running costs." — Paul
He also noted that the bike felt slimmer and lighter than expected, making it far less intimidating than many riders might assume when thinking about an electric motorcycle.
"The biggest smile of the day was when I rode the WN7." — Matt
Honda E-Clutch — Effortless Riding
One of the biggest talking points was Honda's expanding E-Clutch technology, featured on both the Honda Transalp E-Clutch and Honda NX500 E-Clutch.
"Honda's E-Clutch system has revolutionised what is possible across a model range." – Matt
Matt believes the technology opens motorcycling up to a wider range of riders, including A2 licence holders, disabled riders and anyone looking for a more effortless riding experience.
When asked how long it took to get used to the system, Matt's answer was refreshingly straightforward: "Piece of cake." — Matt
The Bridge Team's Favourite
Despite riding a wide variety of bikes, both Matt and Paul independently chose the Honda Transalp as their favourite overall.
"When you find a bike that handles just as well in the pouring rain as it does on a bright summer's day – that's as close as you'll get to the perfect bike." — Matt
