On Tuesday 9th December at Bridge Motorcycles held host to local riders and Triumph fans as they gathered to preview the upcoming Triumph Trident 800 on display, giving attendees an early look at what promises to be Triumph’s next big middleweight street bike. First Impressions of the Trident 800 were largly positive, with a more sculpted tank and a slightly more aggressive stance than the 660. The updated LED headlight and modern dashboard immediately stood out. The bike’s overall look leans toward sleek, sporty minimalism while retaining the familiar Trident character.
Key Technical Info:
Engine: ~800 cc inline-three, designed for a broad torque curve and smooth power delivery.
Electronics: TFT display, multiple riding modes, traction control, ABS — modern features expected as standard.
Chassis & Handling: Lightweight steel frame, quality suspension components, and a braking system focused on agility and stability — promising a ride that’s both fun and confidence-inspiring.
The atmosphere at the event was very laid back environment with Triumph franchise manager Chris on hand to answer any burning questions as the visitors mingled. Whilst comparing the new 800 with the existing 660 and its competitors from Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasaki, all eager to know the arrival times for first orders and pricing.
The Trident 800 preview left a strong impression: powerful yet manageable, modern yet true to the Trident spirit. If Triumph delivers on the promised specs and handling, the Trident 800 could quickly become one of the top middleweight road bikes when it launches.
